CDC Director Susan Monarez was fired less than a month on the job.
CNN and The Washington Post and The Hill confirmed Dr. Monarez has been ousted.
Details of Monarez’s departure from the CDC are not immediately available.
The Hill reported:
Susan Monarez, the longtime government scientist recently confirmed as director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), has been let go from her position after less than a month in the role.
A source familiar with the situation confirmed to The Hill that Monarez is ousted as CDC director. The Senate confirmed her on July 29.
The Washington Post was first to report Monarez’s firing. The Hill has reached out to the Department of Health and Human Services for comment.
Prior to being nominated to lead the CDC, Monarez had served as acting CDC Director shortly after the start of the second Trump administration. She previously served as deputy director at the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H).

Senate confirmed position. I doubt the GOP Senate will be in any hurry to vote on a replacement which means the swampers will be running the CDC aslyum for quite some time.
CDC Director Susan Monarez has been fired, and several other senior officials have also reportedly resigned. Those stepping down include:
The Director of the CDC Vaccine Unit
The CDC’s Chief Medical Officer
The Head of the CDC Zoonotic Diseases Division
More interesting would be Susie Wiles getting her hired for her pharma lobbying clients to start with.
