Fun book that was intended to be against the anti-communist battle but unintentionally helps it.

THE RIVER CHANGES, is a low budget European Cold War era film. A small river that is part of the boundary between East and West changes course and puts a small village on the east side of the iron curtain. The communist officials arrive and proclaim the “good news”. Soon privately owned rifles are confiscated and other controls proceed. The film ends with most of the village escaping to the west across the river at night.
“The Lives of Others” is truly one of the greatest movies I’ve ever seen. It’s a true masterpiece of filmmaking. It’s in the category of “Gone with the Wind” and “The Godfather” and various Hitchcock films in achieving cinematic perfection.
Pickup on South Street(1953). Richard Widmark, Jean Peters and Thelma Ritter versus a Commie spy ring.
“The Chekist”
+1
Hard to watch.

The Anti-Communist Film Festival: Democrat convention
Great book.
“The Lives of Others” was excellent.
I saw “Eleni” too. I used to comb the stacks at Blockbuster for these kinds of movies.
Here’s another:
“Archangel”
Animal Farm, Watership Down...it was banned in the Soviet Union. The Obsolete Man episode of Twilight Zone.
I can’t remember the name of the movie, there was a Czech movie about a fake border station inside of Communist Czechoslovakia, where they would have Communist agents acting like US Soldiers, in order to trick escapees into thinking they had crossed the border to the West.
Yes, the remake. Not the original.
I’m talking about the 1984 one. It was dumb. That’s the only one I’ve ever seen.
This is an obscure one I came across a few years ago that’s on YouTube

Ok...that's a rare opinion in my experience!
