RE: Maduro didn’t send him.
A humongous number of RECENT illegals here in my state ( New York ) are Venezuelans. It is confirmed by friends of mine who work at the state’s welfare and housing departments. VENEZUELANS ( not Mexicans, which have always been an immigration problem). If they arrive by land, they have to go through Mexico,
Their numbers have INCREASED. And crime attributed to Tren De Aragua has increased as well and is conspicuous.
I still need an answer to my question — why the recent INCREASE from Venezuela compared to the time when the earthquake occurred? What changed?
The answer would be like all of them. Seeking a better life. A quick query to AI . . . what % of illegals recently arrived are Venezuelans.
The usual caveats about context and direct quotes but eventually this:
Estimates suggest the total unauthorized immigrant population in the U.S. was about 11 million in 2022.
While Venezuelans made up approximately 2% of the unauthorized population in 2019 (around 189,000), this number has grown substantially since then due to increased arrivals.
Based on over 500,000 Venezuelan encounters since 2021 and accounting for possible multiple encounters by individuals, Venezuelans likely represent a growing but still minority share of the total unauthorized population—potentially in the range of 4–5% of the total as of 2023–2024,
So a proportional double but still the tiniest fraction of the total illegals, which I suppose is the countries closer? Mexico, El Salvador, Guatemala?
As for you seeing them in your locale, I recently got a read on this with Uber drivers in Las Vegas. Bottom line is they are going to go where they have friends who can smooth the path. So if you have Venezuelans local, it became a cluster for that reason — people they know to help them.
If there are 10 illegal Venezuelans there and a Mexican is looking for a place to land, it won’t be there.
