WATCH: “I Can Confirm That” – Putin Agrees that War with Ukraine Would Have Never Happened if Trump Were President, Says Biden was Uncooperative

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday confirmed what President Trump has been saying for years now: The war between Russia and Ukraine would have never even started if it weren’t for Biden.

“Today, President Trump is saying that if he was the President back then, there would be no war, and I’m quite sure that it would indeed be so,” Putin told reporters after a three-hour meeting with President Trump. “I can confirm that.”

“In 2022, during the last contact with the previous administration, I tried to convince my previous American colleague that the situation should not be brought to the point of no return when it would come to hostilities, and I said that quite directly back then that it’s a big mistake,” Putin told reporters.

Putin also drew contrasts between Trump and Biden, saying that Trump is “results-oriented,” “has a very clear idea of what he would like to achieve,” and “sincerely cares about the prosperity of his nation” before taking aim at Biden for being uncooperative during their last meeting.

I agree with Putin. Trump agrees with Putin. We should all agree with Putin.

Putin is correct - but not for the reason he offers. His explanation is

“In 2022, during the last contact with the previous administration, I tried to convince my previous American colleague that the situation should not be brought to the point of no return when it would come to hostilities”

In truth, the invasion had less to do with hostilities reaching the point of no return than with American weakness under Biden signaling to him that there would be no consequences to an invasion.

Trump is president now and the war continues as before. Did you forget that Trump is president?

The truth is, by the end 2021, the Donbass militias were struggling against the UAF, and the UAF was only a few miles outside Donetsk City, threatening to capture the city.

war wouldn’t have started in Trump’s 2nd term, but once his 2nd term was over in Jan 2025 there is a good change it would have started within a few years of that date, depending on who the new president was.

In an alternate timeline, Gavin Newsom is our current President. Putin would have invaded Ukraine in February 2025.

This is going to send the Zeepers CRAZY, the idea that Putin agrees with Trump on the cause of the war being Biden.

Yeah! Trump has had a little over 200 days to have worked this out with these two extremely cooperative and peace loving leaders and a Media and Congress that has his back, no matter what. I'm with the "Right Wing" Crazy Person, it's not like Trump has had anything else to do or accomplished anything so far. Why is he taking so long? What, does he just sit around all day and do nothing?

Your sarcasm is well-founded. “Did you forget Trump is president? What a comment! Yes, Trump is president, and that’s why we are having peace talks 6 months into his term. The last guy did nothing except prolong the war and if he had won re-election, it would have been still going with no end in sight.

Meanwhile, Trump has negotiated the end to two 30 yearlong wars and convinced India/Pakistan to settle down. So, yes, the progress to peace by Trump is off the chart, and he deserves accolades and kudos, and not grumbling and complaints.

>>”Trump is president now and the war continues as before. Did you forget that Trump is president?”

Nope. Didn’t forget a thing. I was commenting on Putin’s claim that the war never would have started if Trump had been President. If you’re going to refute my point at least state my point correctly.

>>”The truth is, by the end 2021, the Donbass militias were struggling against the UAF, and the UAF was only a few miles outside Donetsk City, threatening to capture the city.”

And? Donetsk City is a breakaway region of Ukraine, not a part of Russia. A threat by the Ukrainians to recapture it is not the same as a threat to invade Russia.

So you think the invasion of Ukraine was all about a desire to destroy the deep state rather than a desire to conquer and occupy Ukraine? Bless your heart.

Another thing you're forgetting is that Biden gave cover and tacit approval of Zelensky's 2021 offensive into Donbass, something Trump never condoned. Trump, the Peacemaker, wanted to preserve some semblance of the Minsk 2 agreement. This is the point of Putin's remarks today. Nuland, Sullivan, and Blinken wanted Minsk null and void, period. It was the primary reason Zelensky conspired with Vindman and the Democrats to impeach Trump in 2019.

Or Putin is being agreeable for diplomatic reasons?

One thing is certain. He does not want war with the USA.
