There may have been an arguable desirability of government-funded entertainment and information in the 60’s (though I don’t think so.) Now there absolutely zero justification for these public expenditures. Beside, the hard core leftists who run these outfits have no interest in fairness or accountability. Any agreement to do so would be dishonest, they’d work day and night to circumvent rules mandating change, and no genuine effort at reform would be undertaken
