In the 1960s there used to be little back sections of paperback stores that had “adult interest” books and the manager would throw out high school kids to loitered there.
D.H. Lawerence, Henry Miller, Grove Press books and silly looking R rated soft porn.

When “Adult Book Stores” were started in cities I used to joke that all the others must have been children’s book stores.

Barnes and Noble is a dump.

But with the vanishing brick and mortar book stores, I am thankful for it. My city used to have several. I love books.

I shop for used books on Thriftbooks online for my grand daughters. They love selecting their next book and no need to worry about drag queen story hours.
Thriftbooks also buys books. Great way to keep the kids in reading material.

My daughter just cam back from her friend’s gay daughter’s marriage to another gay. Daughter is pretty and charming and her gay “husband” looks like an ugly. dude. No clue about their politics, but her father is an upright Republican.

I lived in SF for years and had a lot of gay friends. I’m a woman and one of my gay friends went to church with me every Sunday. Really nice guy.

That's exactly what she told me. People on the Right tend to be disapproving, but also don't interject themselves into her life. She said it's the Lefties that froth in open, outright displays of rage at the red hat, assuming that she shares (and has therefore betrayed) their morals.
