Thank you very much and God bless you.
And then there’s eighth paragraph.
Captain Steeeve, you need to see this article.
Allahu ‘akbar, my guess.
From your link I see Saratoga.
The first recorded event was BOTH switches went tonoff position!
Then it appears that one crew was trying to restart while ashing the other WTF did you do (paraphrased).
So, even if thr Captain didn’t see this, his bottom line came out good and the WSJ reporting was correct.
I amend my previous post. Not seeing the WP article I don’t know what they said or their source.
Your article says both switches were put in the off position.
It does not say the were in the off position at the time of the crash.
Have you ever had an engine out on takeoff in an airplane?
I have.
One pilot asked “why did you cut off”? The other pilot answered “ I did not do so “.
I wonder if any foreign object could have caused the switches to cut out, without manipulation of the actual switches.
I’m just pointing to the “big picture”. This story about fuel may *very* well be a distraction. Do you doubt for a minute that the Indian government, for one, will be chanting “Boeing...Boeing...Boeing!” when the final report is issued?
I remember that. What a terrible event. Those people knew they were going to die and the pilot locked out of the cockpit helpless to stop it. That one, to me, is even worse than the Malaysian plane. At least Those folks were in all likelihood unconscious.
They may have been trying to restart the engines, but the Cpt. seems to say that is not the proper procedure. You need minimum altitudes for it. He went kind of fast, though, and I am not a pilot.
Read the #38 link and come back with a meaningful answer.
What is the glide coefficient for that particular airframe type?
Did you crash?
Or water in the avgas
Sumeet Sabharwal was the Captain. Sixty years old
Clive Kundar was the Co-pilot. Thirty eight years old.
The Indian government today is officially stating the fuel cutoff switches were turned off. Such an act is not part of any in-flight procedure except intentionally shutting down an engine. That act alone points to a crew failure of some kind, possibly suicide.
Lawyers, on the other hand, always go for deep pockets. Sling mud and see what sticks.
Nope, I cycled the switch. It happened very fast and was a very close thing.
“Nope, I cycled the switch. It happened very fast and was a very close thing.”
So, now we agree that there was enough time to cycle the switch.
Gee, and why would that be?
Couldn’t be because Boeing knowingly and willfully engaged in complete fraud and murdered 346 people with the 737-Max 8, and tried to blame it on pilots.... and to this very day, only one single person at Boeing faced any criminal prosecution for 346 counts of at the very least 3rd degree murder.
You do have a point there.
