Do away with the idiotic debt ceiling. If you are going to pass programs, you have to pay for them. Don’t want the debt to go higher? Stop spending money you don’t have.

Rand is a virtue signaling fool. This is the best opportunity America has of changing anything. Rand just wants the same old, same old. He wants his platform for grandstanding his ideological purity.

The same naysayers complain about not deporting illegals fast enough. This bill increases funding for that.
The fact that the border is all but closed it helps. But removing 10 million is quite a task.

And how do you suggest President Trump accomplishes that given the RINOs in the house and senate?
How do you suggest he works towards getting his agenda passed with the limited time he has and implements what you want him to do?
How do you suggest President Trump gets his bill passed, does what you want him to do, so that he does not lose the House and/or Senate in 26' and that stops him dead-in-his-tracks?

Sometimes Trump is his own worst enemy, like in this case.
Instead of attacking Rand Paul as a first result, IMHO he should have said something along the lines of "I will work with Sen. Paul to address his concerns about the debt so we can get this passed in the Senate".
Then if Rand Paul refuses, Trump can attack him.
As I see it right now, Sen. Paul is correct to complain about increasing the debt, many of us including myself gave Trump a second term with the expectation that he would do something about spending and the debt.

The debt ceiling should be lowered every year, not raised!

“In all likelihood, I can vote for what the agreement is on the rest of the bill, and it doesn’t have to be perfect to my liking,” Paul said Sunday. “But the debt ceiling increase is a nonstarter.”

If, as Trump and the White House claims, there will be no debt increase, then why are they pushing for a debt ceiling increase?

See this is in the back of everyone's mind. We better raise taxes and increase the debt, or we'll lose the midterms.
Catch 22.

If, as Trump and the White House claims, there will be no debt increase, then why are they pushing for a debt ceiling increase? If I understand correctly, the CBO scores a tax cut as an increase in debt. If the debt ceiling isn't raised, the budget can't accommodate a tax cut. The CBO apparently doesn't understand the Laffer curve.

STFU. Rand is on every network trashing the bill. Trump has every right to publicly call out this economic ignoramus.

A good thing to say but I have seen countless endorsements of those RINO incumbents on Truth Social by the POTUS in recent weeks.
The whole situation very interesting indeed.

The CBO apparently doesn't understand the Laffer curve. Add to that I believe the CBO is scoring growth at around 2%. I believe the real May number was around 4.6%.

Then if Rand Paul refuses, Trump can attack him. rand paul has said he is a no vote, unless he gets his way with no increase in the debt ceiling
and rand paul has said it on the multiple talk shows he's been on, trying to raise his appearance and importance as the rino GOPe puppet that opposes Trump
so it seems rand paul has said, he's done talking....
To: Responsibility2nd
Because without raising it we run the risk of defaulting on the existing debt. That would destroy our economy. We are here because of profligates like Rand. How many times has Rand voted to raise the debt ceiling under previous administrations, yet he gaslights like this.
