‘Will no one rid me of this abomination?’ How many crashes will it take to stop the whirly-birds from flying around Reagan? A question for your Reps. Who were the VIPs on board that Black Hawk?
Keep the choppers. Close Reagan National. It should have been closed 50 years ago. Either that or we need to go with miles of levees and massive landfilling to chanelize the Potomac and significantly lengthen runways. And even then, there still wouldn’t be enough runways and we would still have the noise abatement issues on the approaches.
National is still open because we have a commuter Congress full of Members who go home to campaign every weekend. They like having an airport so close to Capitol Hill.
I would like the answer to that question as well.
