Just imagine if he was a Vietnamese guy named Phuc Yu.
I have my doubts about this.
The police and the judge screwed up and James Bond suffers ,LOL
Most judges have come to believe they don’t really have any skin in the game and can act with impunity as our masters. That should change.
He might want to try going by Jimmy.
> This is absolutely nuts! <
Yep. I’d say a compensation of $1000 for every day he spent it jail would be appropriate. And both the cop and the judge need to be sanctioned for their trash behavior.
But not more than that $1000/day. Mr. Bond bears some responsibility. He was evidently driving without any identification on him. It’s not like he was just walking down the street.
Lesson: If your name is James Bond, carry ID.
The true story is he was arrested for some other crime but came to their attention because the cop didn’t believe his name.
Fleming took the name from an ornithologist he knew. Who was named James Bond.
Why wouldn’t you just say “my drivers license number is blah blah” and let them look it up? There’s more to this story.
If your name is really “James Bond” you better always have plenty of valid ID with you in case you find yourself in circumstances of being questioned by a policeman or judge.
The same goes for a guy whose real name is “Donald Trump” and he’s not a billionaire or the President.
A friend of mine who was actually named John Smith, with a wife named Sue, sometimes got derisive looks and comments when he checked in at hotels. And, for many years, he worked undercover for US intelligence.
I don’t believe this. Does his ID not have his name on it? 60 days?
The police didn’t run his plate number showing the car registration to James Bond, or in the case of a rental car, he has a rental agreement with the name on it? I find the story a little fishy too...
I didnt have this exactly but I do sort of understand.
Imagine being a kid that moves around a lot and having had parents with that went by “Sonny & Cher”. At first I had no idea that these were famous people or why stating my parents names would get me in trouble with the teachers, not that me knowing helped because no one believed me anyway.
Not true. You have 24 hours to produce your driver’s license. And if he was given a court date, it wouldn’t be immediate as depicted here, and the punishment wouldn’t be 60 days in jail!
Other guy in court blurts out?...
“I can vouch for the guy. His name really is James Bond!”
Judge: And who pray tell are you?
“My name is Sherlock Holmes”
There was an insurance agent in the next county over from where I live named Richard M. Nixon...lol
So this happened in Indiana?
That’s stupid.
The only way to answer is; “Bond, James Bond”.
