Fox 11 News TV ^ | 1/7/25 | Fox 11 News - Rick Caruso
Posted on 1/8/2025, 2:23:34 AM by ifinnegan

Fox 11 News covering Pacific Palisades Fire in Los Angeles are talking live to Rick Caruso, a major developer in LA.

He stated there is no water coming from fire hydrants because of neglect and firemen cannot spray water on the fires.

LA mayor Karen Bass is not even in the country, she’s in Ghana.

Caruso said reservoirs that provide fire hydrant water were not re-filled.

Caruso also slammed CA and LA for not clearing brush for decades.

Yes, he went in December, just before Biden and Bass went in January. There is obviously some connection. Kamau is affiliated with Metro Atlanta DSA, I’d look in that direction.

Toward pursuing that: the Congressional Black Caucus has connections with Atlanta going back to the 1970s with former Atlanta mayor Andrew Young, Jimmy Carter’s UN ambassador, who was being handled by MLK and Jesse Jackson’s Soviet handler Hunter Pitts O’Dell (Jack O’Dell), joining Jackson in supporting the PLO. Kamau attended a summit with Congressional Black Caucus member John Lewis in April 2016. Young and Lewis had travelled to India together in 2009 to commemorate MLK’s trip there. Young and Jesse Jackson did a 2021 COVID “fundraiser” for India hosted by hosted by Global Atlanta and the World Affairs Council of Atlanta; Kamau’s associate Jason Esteves is on the board of the latter organization.

Bass was in the West African nation as part of a Biden administration delegation to the inauguration of Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama, which she had attended earlier in the day. She traveled abroad on Jan. 4 as the National Weather Service intensified warnings about a coming windstorm and arrived back in Los Angeles at around 11 a.m. on Jan. 8, more than 24 hours after the fires ignited.

Carter Center Congratulates Ghana for Triumph over Trachoma
June 14, 2018

The Carter Center congratulates its longtime partner Ghana, which has become the first sub-Saharan African country to be validated by the World Health Organization (WHO) for eliminating the eye disease trachoma as a public health problem. . .

From 1999 to 2011, the Carter Center assisted the Ghana Health Service’s Trachoma Control Program as it ramped up surgical services and improved hygiene and sanitation in a number of ways. . .

With financial support from the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, The Carter Center supported Ghana in training more than 8,000 community health workers, including teachers in over 400 schools, environmental health officers, and village volunteers, to deliver core program messages to rural villages, as well as supporting the construction of thousands of household latrines to improve sanitation. Radio broadcasts of trachoma prevention messages were used to reach Ghanaian villagers living in some of the most isolated and remote areas of the country. The program donated wind-up radios and supported local stations in the production and broadcast of weekly trachoma shows, hosting “radio listening clubs” for members to discuss the shows’ messages.

The Center started its Trachoma Control Program in 1998, the same year the International Trachoma Initiative (ITI) began, and the WHO initiated a campaign through World Health Assembly Resolution 51.11 to eliminate trachoma as a public health problem. Principal partners in the Center’s multi-country efforts include Pfizer Inc. and the ITI, the International Coalition for Trachoma Control, the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, the Lions Clubs International Foundation, Sightsavers, the U.K. Department for International Development, the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Trust, the Noor Dubai Foundation, the OPEC Fund for International Development, Abbott and others. Currently, the Center works with six African countries — Ethiopia, Mali, Niger, South Sudan, Sudan, and Uganda — to implement the SAFE strategy. Mali and Niger are close to reaching the goal of wiping out the disease. In Nigeria and Ghana, the Center completed its elimination goals in the areas where it assisted those countries’ programs.

Carter Center’s history with Ghana – Guinea worm, agriculture, and democracy

The Carter Center and Ghana go back a long way. Ghana was one of the first countries to partner with the Center’s Guinea Worm Eradication Program, in 1987. . .

. . .There is also evidence that DSA has been supporting Abrams’s gubernatorial bid from the very beginning. South Fulton, Georgia, city Councilman Khalid Kamau, a Black Lives Matter activist and a DSA member, has close ties to Abrams dating back to 2015. At that time, then-Georgia House Democrat leader Abrams campaigned with Floyd Griffin, the Democratic candidate for Georgia House District 145; Kamau was Griffin’s field organizer at the time. . .

[continuing from same source]

. . .On April 8, the DSA-aligned Working Families Party and DSA-affiliated Georgia feminist Aimee Castenell held an event in support of Abrams, with speakers that included Kamau, Georgia state Rep. Renitta Shannon, and Georgia state Sen. Nan Orrock.

At the event, Kamau declared himself a “socialist” and urged all attendees to get involved in Abrams’s campaign. Shannon and Orrock are both close DSA affiliates. Orrock, in particular, is a decades-long veteran of the Georgia left, dating back from her time supporting the pro-China October League in the early 1970s (Orrock was then known as Nan Grogan Guerrero).

Georgia State University professor Alex Sayf Cummings posted a short video of the event on Twitter.
