Hunter Biden is once again embroiled in mor controversy as newly surfaced bank records and corporate documents link him to a fraudulent bond transaction involving Burnham Asset Management.
The firm, tied to a multi-million-dollar securities fraud scheme, saw Biden’s business partners arrested and convicted while Hunter himself avoided accountability.
The fraud centered on a scheme to defraud the Oglala Sioux Native American tribe out of tens of millions of dollars. Hunter’s former business partners, Devon Archer and Jason Galanis, were convicted for misappropriating funds meant for the tribe.

Stealing money from indians too.
No worst or no better then stealing money from anybody.
If Hunter’s actions involve state crimes, he can still be indicted, tried, and convicted.
Wondering whether Tribal Law is exempt from Pappa Joe’s sweeping pardon for Hunter.
Heck, this is a great test of this fake-a$$ “blanket pardon”. This BS needs to die, not become accepted by people who have watched too much “Law and Order”.
Poor, poor Joe.
His Uncle was eaten by cannibals, and his son will be burned at the stake.
The blanket pardon only applies to federal crimes. State crimes and civil liabilities aren’t covered.
Political Junkie Too nails it:
<><>Biden may have pardoned his family for their prior acts,
<><>but they haven’t filed their 2025 tax forms for 2024 yet
<><>Hiding income on their 2025 tax forms due in April is NOT covered by their blanket pardons.
Elizabeth Warren will pardon him.
My understanding is that tribal law generally does not apply to non-Native persons for criminal matters, but a non-Native person can still be subject to civil charges in tribal courts (and civil courts).

Tribal law is distinct from federal Indian law, which governs the relationship between tribes and the federal and state governments
Tribal law can also apply to non-Natives who affect the health, safety, and welfare of the tribe and tribal members.
Ouch? This will not make Sen Warren happy? I see warpath dance in future...
Thank you!

2015 crime. Pardon covers.
At one point I had liked “Law and Order.”. One night I saw an episode and suddenly the main character lanched into an extended monolog about the evils of essentially conservatism. It was shockingly out of place in the story. I never tuned in again.
I think Hunter can be sued in civil court. Now that would be fun. Especially since bringing pardoned in federal courts he can not use the 5th amendment.
Does the federal government have authority over tribal lands?
Today, there are two major types of Native American land: Trust land , in which the federal government holds legal title, but the beneficial interest remains with the individual or tribe. Trust lands held on behalf of individuals are known as allotments.
Does federal law override tribal law?
Tribes possess all powers of self-government except: (1) those relinquished under treaty with the United States; (2) those that Congress has expressly extinguished; and (3) those that the federal courts have ruled are subject to existing federal law or are inconsistent with overriding national policies.
In a moral sense, I am not so sure. Stealing from a widow and orphans' pension fund is different than stealing from a Rockefeller's heir's trust fund.
