I don’t we’ll learn much of anything new. I think the concern has more to showing how covert information is gathered. My two cents but I would be lying to say I’m not interested in what’s been held back.
The deep state already let it be known that they routinely ignored orders from President Trump 45, if they didn't like them. I doubt that's changed. But hope springs eternal.
Theres been plenty of time to tamper with them I’d imagine. Even between now and when Trump initially announced he would a few months ago.
(?)
“I think it’s assassination insurance.”
I hadn’t thought of that. As the victim of two assassination attempts, that would be pretty clever of trump to put this out there for that reason.
I thought if the releases show the FBI or CIA was involved, it would be easier to convince the public that those entities need to be dismantled.
I agree. I tend to think it’ll be mostly mundane and a lot of nothingburger.
SWMBO was talking to my MIL/her mom about why MIL & I were both so adamant about reading all three sets of documents. MIL told her she just hadn’t been lied to enough yet.
And I was within about 30 miles of the RFK assassination when I was a kid.
I’m sort of thinking we might learn about CIA methods. Like — Lee Harvey Oswald was a patsy who was set up. The real gun man was a CIA guy on the grassy knoll. But that guy on the grassy knoll has never opened his mouth because another CIA guy was given the job of killing the guy who had been on the grassy knoll. And that last guy hasn’t opened his mouth, because he was killed too.
I don’t mean any of that literally, but I do think the Deep State uses very unsavory methods (murder, blackmail, threats against family, planted evidence, etc.) to get cooperation or to keep people silent. I think the payoff from the release of these files is that we may see just how unscrupulous these people really are.
Agreed—most Americans (including many here) do not believe that the FBI, CIA or other US Intelligence Agencies are capable of domestic assassination of domestic political figures.
That is an understandable view given Mockingbird mass media indoctrination.
Releasing the files will accomplish the mission of changing those views if one or two or all three of the assassinations were due to actions taken by those agencies.
That is much more important than debating specific details.
“...the JFK assassination was literally the birth
of the conspiracy theory...”
-
Not really.
I would like to see all the files on the murder of Seth Rich.
I just hope Trump got assassination insurance with his VP pick
Not me.
I think that Trump takes care of his friends and allies.
RFK Jr. is a friend and ally.
He also likes to punish his enemies.
People that were in his first administration turned out to be less than friends convinced him to not release these files then.
It would have taken a phone call to save Gonzalo Lira from being killed.
The Biden admin intentionally let him die because he had the wrong opinions.
Good! Release them!
And we need to know more about the “Watergate” attack on President Nixon, too! Exposing the “Watergate” anti-Nixon conspirators will prevent the same sort of thing being used against Trump!
A lot of folks around here have spent years underestimating President Trump.
If he believes these files are important that means it is highly likely they are important.
In JFK’s case, the autopsy photos are missing or fake. The wounds that some doctors reported were not ‘officially’ recognized. The fatal shot came from JFK’s two o’clock or thereabouts. That left a huge exit hole in the back of his head. The people who killed him and their supporters still claim there was an entrance wound in the back of his skull. All it takes is one photo to settle things.
“I think the concern has more to showing how covert information is gathered.”
There is probably intelligence information in the files that relates to procedures, techniques etc that is embarrassing or could lead to awkward questions like “Do we still do this sort of thing?”
Being shot at sharpens one's wits wonderfully...
Plenty of conspiracy theories about Pearl Harbor, many of them persisting to today.
