I’m not interested in the money so much as I want a public admission that they intentionally edited and reedited Harris’s video in order to promote her election campaign. Since that is unlikely to happen, I would take a public colonoscopy of a discovery process. I want every email and the full set of various versions of her interview from raw footage, to the commercial to the changed final broadcast.

60 Minutes was started by Don Hewitt on one simple premise: "Tell me a story." And for a long time that's what 60 Minutes did, and it did it well. It covered interesting situations, fascinating people, scandals nobody was talking about... it rarely really deviated into current politics. If it did, it wasn't without valid reason.

But somewhere along the way the show abandoned all pretense of it being about "the story" and it became about "the narrative". It became driven by agenda as much as any other division of CBS.

Thats when 60 Minutes lost me, and I had been a loyal viewer.
