Harvard University is offering students a course that teaches modern-day conceptions of sexuality and gender identity in the context of colonialism.
The course, titled “The Sexual Life of Colonialism,” will consider “the role of colonialism and neocolonialism in racial imaginations of gender and sexuality and how these histories shape contemporary understandings of LGBTQ politics, reproductive and sexual rights, and anti-colonial resistance around the world.”
Students will also examine “queer” and “trans sexualities” that supposedly exist in “colonial and postcolonial spaces.”
The class will also “cover many forms of sexuality, including interracial relationships between colonizer and colonized peoples, questions of sexual violence, queer desires, sexual outcasts like ‘prostitutes,’ transgender rights, and the politics of gender difference and LGBTQ rights in the postcolonial world.”
Durba Mitra, an Associate Professor of Women, Gender, and Sexuality, will be teaching the course. Her research interests combine “feminist studies, sexuality studies, and global intellectual history.”
Mitra’s first book was “Indian Sex Life: Sexuality and the Colonial Origins of Modern Social Thought,” which “demonstrates how ideas of deviant female sexuality became foundational to modern social thought.”
She has taught other courses as part of Harvard University’s gender studies program, such as “Who Run the World? Feminism in the Age of Empire,” “Feminist and Queer Theories of Difference,” “Solidarity: Transnational Women’s Rights from Suffrage to NGOs,” and “Feminist Theory: The Body as Archive.”
Mitra is also teaching a junior tutorial this semester called “Research and Methods.”
Campus Reform contacted Harvard University and Durba Mitra for comment. This story will be updated accordingly.
Homosexuality isn’t about same-sex attraction (though that’s part of it). It’s all about a fanatical addiction to sex.
A mind is a terrible thing to waste.
Dennis Prager says that men have a fanatical addiction to sex, which is tempered by women.
Prager says that heterosexual men would be as promiscuous as homosexual men, if only women would comply.
Of course, being a Christian also tempers some men's urges. Lotsa guilt.;-)
Meanwhile, China is producing engineers.
To say it’s guilt has always been a bit off the mark, in a way that both dismisses the critical aspects and seems to misunderstand what’s really going on.
Devotion to a loving Creator and fear of eternal hell is more accurate.
As China grinds out engineers and hacks into our infrastructure.
Harvard.... another one of Satan’s motels!! ....imho
“Harvard offering course on ‘Sexual Life of Colonialism,’ will cover ‘queer desires’ and ‘transgender rights’”
And the BEST PART - The Federal Government and/or Other Students (such as pre-med students) WILL PAY for you to take this class. Talk about a Win-Win!!!!
I suppose this professor is teaching the course to show that homosexuality was a thing even way back in the 1700’s - so it is natural and fine to do.
As your Biblical posts show - it was happening thousands of years ago too. “Natural” I suppose due to human’s sinful “nature” - but not fine to do.
They’re trying to abolish God and create their own “god” in their own image.
Guilt is a function of devotion to a loving Creator. When a man’s thoughts conflict with his love of God, guilt acts as an internal signal, guided by the Holy Spirit, revealing a misalignment with his faith.
Rather than being a burden, guilt reflects a deep relationship with God, offering an opportunity for repentance, growth, and renewed intimacy through His grace. When approached with prayer and trust, guilt transforms from a negative emotion into a spiritual experience that strengthens one’s connection with a loving Creator.
I would rather attend Paint Drying 101, “Complex discussions and intersectionality of post-modern theories of oxygen-paint substantive complete ingredients in the drying process.” Man, Havard, look out, I’m coming to write you class descriptions.
Yep we human beings have been sinners since the beginning
Thank God that the Messiah was (technically) slain before the foundation of the Earth 🌎🌍
But some are determined to expand this particular sin - as predicted in Romans 1:24-28 - and cannot be dissuaded from doing so - all the way to destruction
What you say is true and portrays guilt in the right spirit.
And then off to Starbucks they go!!
