The Hungarians know who gave them their freedom. Here’s a statue of Ronald Reagan in Budapest. Note the flowers placed at the feet.

He had nothing to do with it. Carter’s vision was appeasement. What Carter left Reagan was a world similar to what Biden is leaving Trump. Carter was across the board failure routinely trying to appease enemies and betray allies. Everywhere from Europe to the Middle East to Central America everything Carter touched turned to crap for US intrests

Again historically inaccurate complete made up nonsense

Don’t you EVER get tired of simply making up some BS instead of dealing in REAL facts?

They could have, but did not, create money from nothingness.

You cannot be serious.

Remember Red Dawn? That would have been reality, if Carter was re-elected.

If you look on the Wiki for Quantitative Ease, you’ll see that it means that the Federal Reserve buys US Treasury instruments.

There are two meanings to the activity. One is “Monetizing Debt”. The other is “Quantitative Ease”.

The action taken is a central bank buys the debt instruments of their country.

You have to dig because it has been whitewashed, but if you do you’ll find that the difference between monetizing debt and quantitative ease is the stated purpose. The action taken is the same. The Central Bank creates money and buys bonds.

In one case they announce this is being done to stimulate the economy. THis is QE. In the other case they will say nothing, or perhaps a discussion of dismissal of the central bank governors. This is monetizing debt.

There is no difference in the actual action. The only difference is words spoken in front of the microphone.

So . . . there is a famous Bernanke interview by 60 Minutes of what he was doing with QE. He said “I don’t know what these people are thinking. I am just buying bonds.” The reporter asked him “where do you get the money to buy these bonds?”

That 2nd question was edited out and never aired. It got splashed online eventually.

That’s laughable. It was Reagan and Pope John Paul II.

I would also include Poland, I can’t remember the guy’s name but their strikes.

Actually, Margret Thatcher played a bit of role as well. Lech Walesa was the head of Solidarity.

During and after Carter and her father’s time, there had been many Soviet leaders: Breshnev, Andropov, Chernenko, and then Gorbachev. Even Gorbachev still saw the Uni Soviet as a strong and powerful country. What an ignorant person!

That’s laughable. It was Reagan and Pope John Paul II.

Brzezinski stayed around an helped several presidents of both parties after the end of the Carter admin; but as an advisor, not a full-time slot My understanding is that he was useful in first approaching John Paul II because he could speak Polish with JP2's private secretary, which helped gain access for Carter and later Reagan.
