And Musk has not “bought” any inventors.
Just look at Boeing with vastly more engineers and still got clobbered by SpaceX in developing a space craft for the SpaceStation. Boeing was 4 years late and Boeing's Starliner still couldn't work properly. They had to call on SpaceX to go rescue them astronauts that Boeing sent to the SpaceStation.
