One of the main rights for which the Founding Fathers fought the Revolution was the right to private property. But in woke jurisdictions, homeowners can find themselves treated as criminals for trying to kick invading squatters out of their homes.
If someone invades another person‘s home without permission and is told to leave but refuses to do so, that individual is breaking the law and violating a sacred American right. There should be no argument whatsoever about this. But a Georgia woman insanely was arrested and charged with multiple crimes after she tried to evict an aggressive squatter who locked her out of her own home. The police sided with the victimizer instead of the victim.
“I spent the night on a mat on a concrete floor in deplorable conditions. While this woman, this squatter slept in my home,” Loletha Hale explained in frustration to Channel 2 Atlanta. A deputy condescendingly lectured Hale, “Just think of it from this perspective, though. Everybody isn’t as fortunate as you to have a bed. All the little things, a bed in their house, food in the kitchen.”

The Georgia Squatter Reform Act has apparently not been enforced in Hale’s case, as she has been in a legal battle since August, when the squatter first showed up in her home. Clayton County Magistrate Court Judge Latrevia Lates-Johnson, per Channel 2, issued the insane ruling that “Sakemeyia Johnson is not a squatter” because she is — wait for it — a relative of the partner of a previously evicted tenant. If someone wrote a fiction story this wild, he would be laughed at.

This happened in New York city as well, they arrested the homeowner when she changed the locks because squatters had taken over her house.
“Sakemeyia Johnson is not a squatter” because she is — wait for it — a relative of the partner of a previously evicted tenant.”
It all starts when people in Blue Counties (or Blue Cities) decide to play landlord, but without the proper legal protections in place. The best option, if people want to make some money by renting out a spare bedroom, is to instead move into a smaller house (or apartment) or move out of the Blue jurisdiction, unless the proper laws are in place, as this ‘judge’ in no different than any other Democrat ‘judge’.

“A positive side of this story is that a black woman in Atlanta, the homeowner, became a victim of her own ideology. She’ll always vote Democrat, but like the old communists, she’ll have to try not to think about the internal contradictions of her own convictions.”
Very good response, worth repeating! Have a great day.

I watched the video of the interview with the homeowner. I felt so sorry for her. You could tell she was someone who had worked hard and followed the rules, as had her parents before her, only to have government, cops, and court take the side of the law-breakers.
“I don’t worry about stuff like this because I have an anti-squatter device that works 100% of the time.”
Guaranteed to get you five to ten in the county pen.
“I watched the video of the interview with the homeowner.”
Started in August. Nov. 18 judge ruled in owners favor but she is still waiting for a court order.
Something about the squatters bankruptcy filing putting everything on hold.
Don’t call the police. Take care of business yourself. If it takes several trips to the dump with the trunk full of body bags, then it is what it is.
where we live the preferred squatter solution is less drastic but quite effective. it’s a large sign that reads “owner is armed and has friends...with backhoes”. no squatter problem here. results may vary.
Florida put a stop to the squatting BS this year.
It’s now illegal punishable by fines and jail time.
Why other states haven’t taken up that model is beyond my understanding.
“..Guaranteed to get you five to ten in the county pen....”
Abide by the the Three S” methodology: Shoot, Shovel, Shutup.
And I think there was a musical about that: Rent.
“Clayton County Magistrate Court Judge Latrevia Lates-Johnson”
I think I’ve discovered the problem here.
When the county legal system is as screwed up as a county like Clayton’s, a favorable law like that means little.
