Rise of the Superconstituent

Elon Musk's joining with Donald Trump is going to prove to be one of the greatest things ever to happen to this country. The enormity of this can be measured in democrat discomfort, whining and umbrage.

Speaker Mike Johnson promised us that there would no last minute piled on continuing resolution as in the past and it would be clean. But here it is.

1547 pages, when it should have been around 50 pages. It was unceremoniously dumped in the laps of House members on Wednesday, and they were expected to read it all and vote by Friday. I asked Grok who wrote it, and this is the response:

The most recent Continuing Resolution (CR) to keep the government funded was primarily drafted by Rep. Tom Cole (R-OK), according to information from the web. However, it's worth noting that legislative drafting often involves a team effort, so while Rep. Cole is credited with the writing, the process likely included contributions from various staff members and possibly other legislators or aides.

Posts on X suggest that Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) was also involved in drafting the CR, with some users expressing strong opinions about his role. These posts, however, come from individual accounts and might reflect personal or political biases rather than factual accounts of the legislative process.

If you didn't know, you'd think for sure it was written by Hakeem Jeffries and Dan Goldman. Seeing what's in it, and there is lots to hate. You would without a doubt think that Jeffries held a gun to the heads of Cole and Johnson. To me, the worst of this monstrosity are 3. building 12 new biolabs (because we have learned nothing), 2. the 40% raises for Congress and #1 with a bullet, legal protection from any coming Trump era investigations. It's a democrat's wet dream.

Conservatives on X exploded. Elon Musk dryly said that he would bankroll all primaries against any Republicans voting for this thing. democrats did not take it well.

The lightweight Maxwell Frost:

"And just like that, Republican Unelected Co-President Elon Musk has killed the bill to keep the government from shutting down on Friday. All he had to do was make a few social media posts." "Trump said he’d empower working people, all he’s done is empower the ultra wealthy."

Brad Sherman

“We know who caused it. We had a deal. We negotiated a deal. And then Musk decided to change the deal. Do I call him President Musk?”

Pramila Jayapal

Dem Sean Casten, eager to display his intellectual deficit, whined about "two unelected billionaires" running the government

Democrat Congressman says two unelected billionaires are holding the government hostage. Even Jake Tapper had to correct this fool. pic.twitter.com/zdLo5Cn8Mo

— Insurrection Barbie (@DefiyantlyFree) December 19, 2024

Sen Chris Murphy (D-CT), whose mouth is always far ahead of his brain, had to ante in:

"Why did we all of a sudden decide to take @elonmusk's government efficiency task force seriously? I don't think enough Democrats are sounding the red alert. It’s not normal. We have to start telegraphing that to people.”

They and their Republican colleagues out of sorts because they're not going get their raise nor will they get the other garbage. Musk has their nuts in a vise.

And Hillary Clinton, of course.

Worst take of the day

None of them get it, or perhaps they don't want to get it. DOGE was part of Trump's campaign. He had promised that Musk and Ramaswamy would look to reduce wasteful government spending. With Biden being declared brain dead Trump has been the de facto President since Nov 5.

The Alt Left hysteria about Musk is pure hysteric demagoguery by people desperate to hold onto power. It is without a shred of a hint of a notion of a clue of a fact.

President's going back to at least Woodrow Wilson have always had special advisors.

It is intellectually imbecilic what they are vomiting forth about Musk.

Democrats hate it when we refuse to play by their rules.

From now on we make our own rules.

Johnson broke a solemn oath to the American people by trying to ram through a pork bill that harms America. I had hopes that a”Born Again” speaker would keep his oath, but it turns out he’s just another corrupt swamp monster.

Even plan B was a pork disaster. I’m glad my congressman voted against it.

Dear Ms. Applebaum. If you look at the Jeopardy board and if you take Democrat Billionaire donors for 100 you will find “Who is George Soros, Bill Gates and Warren Buffet?”

Musk is playing the role that the dominant publishers like Hearst, Scripps, Pulitzer, etc played in the previous era.

I’ve been watching the leftist meltdown on X. It’s like a dumptruck full of garlic has been sent down a hole into a metropolis of vampires. It’s delicious...

It’s kinda funny how they went from “Trump is a authoritarian facist dictator” to “Trump is a puppet and Elon Musk is actually in charge” so quickly.

You always tell when the “talking points’ were sent out - they all use the same words. No thinking required.

So far Musk hasn’t caused me to lose any sleep. It is natural for grifters and thieves to be wary of any budget cutting

(referring to congresscritters and those federal employees who know they’re not needed and to sone rip-off govt contractors )

I wonder if the Dems will ever catch a clue that their whining and temper tantrums are just empowering Musk even more.

Musk’s tweets and the response to them remind me of the parents thrown out of school board meetings and threatened with arrest when they open up and start publicly reading some of their young children’s sex and “gender” education textbooks. Open up the bill, start reading the obscenities inside and suddenly all hell breaks loose.

Johnson got rolled. Schumer, McConnell, Johnson and Jeffries “cut” this deal. Johnson needs to learn whose side he is on. McConnell is a lost cause.

Thank God for Elon Musk.

People have been saying for a long time that Federal legislation should be published in advance of any vote, at least a week of public scrutiny before any votes. None of this midnight legislation.
