The Library of Congress was in a position to grant something.
[Geek Alert] As long as the “stayed at his post” scene is reinstated, sure, why not?
I was never a Trekkie but somehow ended up seeing this film. Not bad but what I enjoyed most was Montalban’s over acting.
Although I do very much like Ricardo Montalbán, whenever I think of him, the words “rich corinthian leather” immediately pop into my head, followed by “Zeee plaaaane!”
I’m too old for that to change..
Well, it was the best of those movies.
Montalban and Shatner hamming it up together. Perfect combination!

There’s a line in film where Terrell tells Kirk: He’s completely mad, Admiral. He blames you for the death of his wife.
Kirk immediately comes back with: I know what he blames me for.
How does Kirk know that?
The ending to the movie, “Khan,” was 100% wrong! They let Khan think that Kirk was going to die with him! WRONG! The ending should have been Khan seeing the Enterprise warp out of harm’s way! IDIOTS!

After the t*rd in the punchbowl that was Star Trek The Motion Picture, Wrath of Khan was redemption of the franchise. I fell asleep at the former (after convincing my girlfriend to see it with me). I was on the edge of my seat for the latter.
You need to watch The Motion Picture again in the Director’s Cut. Director Robert Wise redid the film in 2000 cutting the long boring shots and adding new updated special effects like he originally intended but couldn’t because they were over scheduled and couldn’t meet the deadline to get everything done. The movie is totally great now.
