It seems to me the gospel was once enough. I am very uncomfortable mixing the truth of scripture with fiction. It seems like to me one is adding to the scriptures by doing so. That said, I’m the only one I know that is bothered by it.

I am worried it will create a false view of God and the Scriptures. When one thinks of Christ, if all they have is this, they will think of the actor. I’m not surei can even fully articulate why I’m uncomfortable with that.

I understand what you’re saying. But I don’t think “The Chosen” is mixing Scripture with fiction. As I see it, it’s more like mixing Scripture with reasonable and respectful guesses.

One of my favorite scenes from that series is Jesus talking to the Samaritan woman at Jacob’s Well. It’s very moving - and I think Scripturally sound even though it includes dialogue not found in the Bible.

Folks might disagree, and I certainly respect that.
