I'm conflicted with chronic lower back pain since 1977, self treated with drugs, alcohol and pure grit to keep working and complaining . . . . and the story my 30 year old single father son just told me about waiting through a waiting period to have his teeth extracted (they're ugly stumps now) and set for surgery this Dec 9 and 19 for extraction and new dentures . . only to be told that the thousands he had saved (they told him up front to cover what insurance didn't) will now be $4200.00 more

Your son might consider a trip to Los Algodones, Mexico right next door to Yuma, AZ. It’s the heart of dental tourism. There, he can get his teeth pulled and same day dentures for about 10-15% what he was quoted in the U.S. My US dentist quoted ~$14,000 to do that - I went to Sani Dental in Mexico and paid $1,800 and another $2,000 for lodging/meals for a 10-day stay for follow ups and to recuperate. The dentist even kicked in the cost of 3 nights lodging at the Hacienda Hotel (which he also owns). Not the most pleasant vacation, but I got what I needed and didn’t have to mortgage my house to do it.
