It's a long article but definitely worth the read. He removed the paywall so that everyone can read it.
Release and pardon them all it was political persecution!!
Blanket Pardons... no excuses.
The FBI and CIA infested that protest and directed it.
All of the normal Americans there in DC, were there to support Trump who asked them to be there.
The prosecutions were ALL based on the LIE that it was a violent armed “insurrection” and not a mere rowdy protest.
Any crime a MAGA person committed has long been paid for with 4 years in solitary.
The prison conditions have been vicious with gulag levels of abuse and torture.
Bottom line, all except the instigators were there FOR Trump. It would be a serious breach of faith for Trump to abandon them to some ponderous case by case process.
I imagine Trump has people researching each case even now, so that on January 20, the pardons will be one of his first acts.
“Release and pardon them all it was political persecution!!”
I agree.
If you are up for more Substack reading, here is the latest from Julie Kelly.
“Not Lawfare. Justice.”
https://www.declassified.live/p/not-lawfare-justice
An excerpt:
“But ever since Trump’s decisive victory, many anti-Trump pundits who either endorsed or turned a blind eye to the vengeful weaponization of Joe Biden’s Department of Justice now are predictably demanding a “lawfare” ceasefire on the baseless assumption that the American people want to move on.
Fox News and National Review legal analyst Andrew McCarthy just posted a myopic column tsk-tsking plans to investigate wrongdoing not only related to the criminal cases against the incoming president but by members of the January 6 select committee and the Department of Justice’s ongoing prosecution of January 6 protesters. “Winning was his retribution,” McCarthy declared. “Against the odds and thanks to the Supreme Court, he was able to make an effective electoral case against lawfare because, at a gut level, Americans reject the rigged, punitive exploitation of law enforcement. Neither the public nor the courts are going to tolerate retributive lawfare.””
McCarthy has supported the DOJ’s witch-hunt against Trump to the point that I’m beginning to wonder about his actions back when he worked for the department. He REALLY doesn’t want anyone digging too deeply into the corruption there. Oh he covers up his support in legalese and “muh principles” but I far as I can recall, he has twisted just about every law and legal precedent to support their actions.
Good article. Thanks for posting.
Commute all the sentences on day one then, upon review, follow up with pardons for those who deserve it, which probably covers 99% of those convicted. The handful of those who deserved prison have already served enough time.
Those, on the other hand, who deserved prison but were never charged (i.e. FBI plants, instigators, etc.) need to be investigated.
Carter pardoned the draft dodgers on his first day in office so Trump is much more justified in pardoning the J6 protestors.
That works for me.
Absolutely.
First find out if it was a set up by the Feds
Add to that arrange a large settlement for the many wrongfully prosecuted and those who have been subject to human rights abuses.
Investigate the prison, warden, and guards to clean house.
Portland, Seattle, and Minneapolis were set on fire by antifa and BLM, and NO ONE saw jail time.
Of course The Stupid Party never put these in perspective to the Stupid Americans.
Yup. We jail J6 people, and reward criminals who BURN DOWN our cities.
If Biden was smart, he would pardon all of the protestors with misdemeanor convictions. Then all Trump would have left would be to pardon the protestors who had been convicted of felonies. The democrats and the MSM would then whine on for months about “one felon pardoning other felons.” Of course, Biden is too stupid and whoever is actually running the executive branch is too much of a left-wing ideologue to ever go for it.
What I hope that Trump does is commute all of the sentences on day one (immediately after his swearing in) and then allow anyone who wants a pardon to apply for one on a case by case basis. Some protestors may prefer to appeal their convictions rather than accept a guilty verdict. If they are unable to get their convictions overturned, then they can apply for a pardon. Also, there are some rioters that do not deserve pardons, especially any Antifa plants that were actually charged.
I agree. In addition, charge those responsible DC police with murder and criminally and civilly charge ALL those responsible for the political persecution of J6 protesters.
Agreed.
Certainly the ones that did nothing more than enter the building and stand around, peacefully protesting.
“ Those, on the other hand, who deserved prison but were never charged (i.e. FBI plants, instigators, etc.) need to be investigated.”
^this is why I am against a blanket pardon. There are some guilty people who need to pay for their crimes; a blanket pardon would set a precedent that might allow the real guilty parties off the hook..
every single one of them should be pardoned and released. And then a settlement should follow giving each of them millions for political prosecution.
