A .300 Weatherby Magnum bullet travels at about 1,888mph at the muzzle.
Even 100lb inert cones traveling at 8,000mph would do considerable damage.
36 of them nearly simultaneously, did great damage.
Explosive not necessary. Each of them turned to a very hot plasma and likely penetrated completely.
Thoughts from the Zeeps?
10 feet does not equal 6 meters.
I’ve read that impact was at MACH 10 to MACH 20+. How could that not penetrate, warhead or not? I’ve seen reputable sources speculate these could be equipped with Avangards.
I’m not sure, 6 or 36 of these per Oreshnik? Keep our carriers the heck out of the Black and Baltic Seas!
“The high speed of the Avangard likely gives it far better target-penetration characteristics than subsonic cruise-missiles. The Avangard weighs about 2,000 kg and travels at Mach 20–27, giving it the equivalent of 21 tons of TNT in kinetic energy alone, excluding any explosive warhead.”
Uh, no.
I though it was supposed to have been dummy warheads as a demonstration. Is it conventional warheads now?
I’ve seen plenty of videos about the effects of a nuclear blast at various distances away from Ground Zero, but how deep does one have to get to be safe from a nuclear detonation?
The NY PSA about what to do in the event of a nuclear threat is to get indoors

“Putin could have easily taken out Europe and American nuclear capability if he really wanted to conquer Europe”
Nonsene.
“but he has been against turning this into World War III”
More nonsense. Every step he has taken has tended to push things futher into WWIII.
Interestingly, my paternal grandfather was from Ekaterinaslav, the name of which was changed to Dnipropetrovsk during the time of the Evil Empire.
“Because this facility was underground, all the pipes for the water supply in the city have been destroyed.”
More interestingly, my great GF and his father before him made a living distributing water throughout the city. They’d bring a horse-drawn cart with a huge barrel on top to the Dnieper River, fill it up and sell buckets of water for a few Kopecki’s (Pennie’s, essentially) each. My GGF made enough money to employ about 50 workers, and invested profits into about a dozen houses - and the f’ing Communist bastards not only took everything from him, but murdered him in 1937.
…and now apparently his skills would be much in demand.
The US has these.
wow. looks almost like lightning strikes. i hope Trump can end this quickly.
