So just to get ahead of the curve we should sink all of our remaining ships because they are “vulnerable”. right?

So wouldn’t the PLAN destroy all launch platforms BEFORE their invasion began? Just a hunch.

Used wisely, I don’t think any of our current ships are vulnerable. And I’m sure they all still have a purpose.

My point is that times have changed. The number and tonnage of a surface fleet doesn’t matter anywhere near like it did 100 years ago. As was mentioned elsewhere on this thread, drones are the future.

And as a side comment, that’s a shame from an aesthetic point of view. The Iowa class battleships weren’t just powerful. They were elegant in their own way.

Drones, not so much.
