I am a writer and poet, though not by trade. The following poem, in the comments below, is one of several I have written as a tribute to those who were never allowed to be born. It was prompted by the battle over Amendment 3 in Missouri and similar initiatives elsewhere.
We lost on Amendment 3 yesterday, but I am not without hope, and I do not believe the final word on this issue has been spoken.
My words are not eloquent, but I do hope they are poignant. Also, I hope I'm posting this correctly. This is a first for me.
I assert now my God-given right as a human to breathe the same air that you breathe – to grow up in a land filled with hope and a future – to see the same beauty you see.
I assert that I have as much right to my life as the ones who would seek to take mine, who would discard us, innocent babes in the womb, to preserve their own selfish designs.
I assert now my God-given right to my freedom – Liberty, justice, held high. I reject any thought of a two-tiered caste where your freedom demands that I die.
I’m nobody’s parasite, burden or blight. I’m a human like you with a future in sight. If you don’t want to raise me, then find me a home where responsible parents will call me their own.
I assert that I have as much right to my life as the ones who would seek to take mine. All your wealth, all your power, all your influence still will not hide your malicious design.
Democrats aborted the person who would have cured cancer, the person who would have brought us world peace, the person who would have united this world in harmony.
Nicely stated plea to our humanity. Thank you. Always forward in the Saviors love.
Amen sparrowsong.
The unborn can’t vote, nor can they tithe.
They don’t stand a chance in today’s America.
Yes, and so many others. We’ll never know how they would have enriched our lives.
Apologies on the formatting. I think I got it right now.

Please hear Phil Keaggy song, “Little Ones”; available on Youtube. Heart rending and pure.
That song is lovely. Thank you for sharing it — I had never heard it before.
Unwanted Angels
Johnny can't come out to play
And Meg won't be at her ballet.
Mike won't stop that play at third
And Sara's voice will not be heard.
Words unspoken, tears uncried,
Spirits broken, hearts untried.
Without a thought, to plant a seed,
Then pluck it out - though it may bleed.
Listen for the deafening cry!
Dare look inside...as each one dies.
Countless thoughts forever lost.
The right of choice...how high the cost!
No hearth will ever be the same,
Each loss diminishes the flame.
Angels passing in the mist,
Sixty-six million - never kissed,
Souls...on the unwanted list!

Thank you so much for sharing this. One day we will no longer have to write such words. Until then, we must.
Love it! Thank you for remembering our innocent fallen brothers and sisters.
This is the voice of the preborn, murdered in their mothers’ wombs.
I hope and pray I live to see the day when abortion won’t have to be made illegal because it will be UNTHINKABLE.
