"Start shooting": the surprise mission of the combat helicopter disrupted the plan for Hezbollah.
The UAV disaster this week at Golani training base was a painful reminder of the danger, but not long ago a historic achievement was recorded - when two Apache pilots set out on a complex mission. The goal: to intercept an explosive UAV that was making its way towards strategic targets in Israel. "It's like looking for a needle in a haystack, we shot it down in a four-second burst," repeated the squadron's deputy commander, Major A. Without firing a single missile: behind the perfect interception - which was described in the Air Force as a "hit on the millimeter".
Three weeks after the assassination of Hizbullah senior leader Fouad Shukr (al-Hajj Mohsen), two Apache pilots found themselves at the forefront of thwarting his revenge attack on Israel. While fighter jets are landing a pre-emptive strike in southern Lebanon, they have been vigilantly waiting for a threat to arrive from a distance. When a Hezbollah drone penetrated that day in an attempt to hit strategic facilities, the pilots were required to make an unprecedented interception in the history of the Air Force.
"We both arrived at the right place, at the right time, and with the right weaponry to do it," they say. "The Americans don't do that with Apache. It's the Israeli brain that works overtime and tries to use the existing tools in as wide a range as possible."
After the assassination of "Hezbollah Chief of Staff" Fouad Shukr at the end of July, everyone knew that Nasrallah would take revenge for the elimination of his right-hand man - the only question was when and with what intensity. These were three weeks of nerve-wracking waiting. The intelligence estimates expected a massive attack in the north, and a more severe one in the Gush Dan region. In the air force squadrons, alertness reached its peak: pilots and crew members constantly practiced a variety of scenarios - from defensive preparation to a pre-emptive strike at the Ramon base, in the "Magic Touch" squadron (190), the Apache crews were busy preparing for a slightly different mission than usual, without knowing that they were about to. to make a little history. Then, on the night of August 25, the signal was given: preliminary information was received in AMAN about Hezbollah's extensive preparations for an attack, and the air force took off for a pre-emptive strike in southern Lebanon.

Beautiful shot!
Hey man, nice shot!
Americans designed and built the Apache helicopter.
I saw a video showing a laser shooting down a small drone.
It took 3 cents worth of energy. The weapon can be mounted on anything from pickup trucks to armored vehicles. It shoots up to 3 miles away.
