In a document offered to the court in the case of US v. Routh, the prosecution put forward facts that detail evidence of a near-successful assassination attempt against former President and leading presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Speculation by this correspondent appears to have been close to the truth.
14. Law enforcement discovered that the license plate on the Nissan Xterra was not registered to the Nissan Xterra. During a search of the Nissan Xterra, FBI agents found two additional license plates. The agents also found six cellphones. One of the cell phones contained a Google search of how to travel from Palm Beach County to Mexico. The agents also found 12 pairs of gloves; a Hawaii Driver’s License in the Defendant’s name; a passport in the Defendant’s name; and documents, including the following:

Routh was in North Carolina months before the attempted assassination. He was stalking Trump for nearly a month.
FBI image of rifle recovered at the scene.
Oh the convenience of plausible deniability…
He was in the sniper den for about 12 hours, how did he know to be there?
Wow!
Budget Assassin, for sure.
But, assassin nonetheless.
Mesia maggots leaked Trumps schedule
Lovely, everything Rough did wrong clearly defined in article.
If the claims that Trump’s golf outing was determined “only 15 minutes ahead” are true, then he was steered to the sniper.
Who decided to go golfing at that location and time?
Im glad this idiot’s dad didnt teach him any too good gun skilz.
Whats the “COMBAT EXCHANGE’ on the stock? Great deal on weapons! Brand new Bolshevik SKS. New muffler clamp scope mounts very good to see the enemy. Used in battle very little. Only dropped once!
So far, we've had two inexperienced and unskilled nutcases try to kill Mr. Trump, who was only slightly protected against these kinds of folks. I lose sleep worrying about the well-trained and experienced killer with a decent rifle getting a shot while the USSS is busy filling its ranks with trannies and other assorted oddballs.
YouTuber, and former congressional candidate Brandon Herrera did a video on the shooter’s rifle, even going so far as to mount the scope in rings, and tape the whole thing to the receiver with electrical tape; damned if he wasn’t scoring hits at 100 yards once he figured out his holdover. Consistent hits even after making adjustments to the taped up scope. Not accurate, but accurate enough to score a hit on a steel plate.
As for irons, Henry Chan over at 9 Hole Reviews did a practical accuracy video on the SKS with iron sights, scoring hits out to 500 yards, with irons only calibrated out to 400 meters.
It ain’t the arrow, it the injun, well the injun makes a difference.
12 hours exposure is 10 hours more than necessary, with more exposure to be found out by some passerby or checked out by a local police officer.
It is unlikely he would have been there so long if he had known when and where Trump would be.
If he had done his homework from open sources, which it appears he had, there was a pretty good reason to guess he would have an opportunity at that location.
He was stalking Trump for nearly a month.
With the vulnerabilities the administration made possible, it is not surprising he found one vulnerability in a month.
It may be there were other close calls. We may never know.
His failings buffered by his ‘support network’?
Inquiring minds want to know...
I am not so sure the note is real.
I have a Russian SKS with iron sights. Accurate enough for an assassination.
The difference between a Chinese SKS and a Russian SKS is like the difference between A real AR15 and a Daisey BB rifle.
They couldn’t tell the difference between an AK47 and an SKS, so don’t be surprised that they can’t tell the difference between a Russian SKS and a Chinese SKS.
The “media” is SOOOOOO ignorant.
If we trusted the FBI, they could check for fingerprints.
Fingerprints last a long time on paper.
But who trusts the FBI?
The Russian rifles have a much nicer finish, and better wood.
Both rifles function well.
There is probably more difference in accuracy between individual rifles than between Russian and Chinese SKS rifles.
I tend to think of the SKS as the communist version of the Garand. Neither was designed with optics in mind.
The Garand has better sights. The SKS does not have the annoying ejection of a clip. Ballistically, the Garand is superior, but the SKS has much less recoil.
He never intended to kill, but start something. Too mentally ill to do more. It is all show.
I have wondered about that. Rouse seems to crave attention.
In the early afternoon, a sniper fired an SKS at us from about 300m, and as luck would have it, he fired a green tracer at us - missing us widely.
I chambered a round and fired a green tracer back at him.
There was a pause, then he fired another round and I fired back at him.
After about four shots each, the guy quit because he probably thought his rounds were bouncing right back to him...
