Can someone explain to me how something written in 2024 can be referenced in something written in 2020?
The article is written in English but could have been written better. Does this help?

RETRACTED: Deaths induced by compassionate use of hydroxychloroquine during the first COVID-19 wave: An estimate
The date seems to be the date of the retraction. I can’t find the date of the original article. David Gortler documents that there were a lot of negative headlines in January 2024. Those headlines and articles should be retracted as well.
I think Mr. Gortler became emotionally inflamed and threw everything into one article to get it off his chest. I sometimes make a similar mistake. Perhaps he should have slowed down and turned this into multiple easy to understand articles.
Were you able to make out the date of the original article, before it was retracted?
