Forward the Light Brigade:
"Other states can be listed as member of the Axis—Syria for one, a client state of Russia, Cuba and Valenzuela as well.
Serbia is pro-Russia and Turkey is inching closer as is Belarus.
Maybe be Egypt and South Africa.
The big question is where will India fall?
Putin has been busy lining up allies all over the world." Good points!
But I doubt if Turkey, Egypt or India will become enemies of the West, regardless of how friendly they want to be with Russia & China.
- India is a western style democracy and member of the Quad alliance -- US, UK, India & Japan.
India has always felt threatened by CCP-China and so aligned with the Old Soviet Union, now Russia, but also always friendly to western style democracies. - Turkey is also somewhat democratic, albeit these days less so than years ago, and a NATO ally.
There are still US military bases in Turkey, Turkey's economy is highly dependent on foreign trade and it's top export customers are Germany, the US, UK and Italy.
So, while Turkey may seek friendship with other countries, it's hard to imagine Turkey turning from ally to enemy. - US aid to Egypt since circa 1980 has totaled over $100 billion in today's dollars and continues today at the rate of over $1 billion per year.
Disruptions in the Suez Canal have caused major financial hardship in Egypt, and US military support to restore the free flow of shipping through the canal could be vital to Egypt's regime stability.
Egypt's largest exports go to Turkey, US, Spain & India.
Therefore, regardless of Egypt's growing friendships with other Global South countries, I wouldn't expect to see Egypt become our enemy.
Forward the Light Brigade:
"Putin has been busy lining up allies all over the world." I can't see BRICS as a military threat, ever, and economically... all BRICS countries do over 80% of their international trade with non-BRICS countries, especially the US.
BRICS currencies, even the Chinese Yuan, play a minor to non-existent role in international trade.
So, I'm just not feeling the threat from the wider "Global South".
However, Russia, China, NoKo & Iran -- add in Cuba, Venezuela, Belarus, Serbia and maybe a few others -- definitely, big time trouble.

shades of red/brown = dictatorships

USA-FRANCE:
"What I find fascinating is that the West is dragging its feet to let Ukraine use western long-distance missiles aimed at military targets in Russia.
While at the same time Russia has no qualms hitting civilian targets over the entirety of Ukraine, even the capital Kiev, with countless of North Korean and Iranian weapons..." Vlad favors Kamala! :
Ukraine's basic problem today is -- so far as I can tell -- there is no plan for victory, never was, in the US government, or NATO, or anywhere else that I've seen.
This is the result of a brain-dead US Democrat president and "vibes & joy" cackling VP.
Indeed, our Democrats are shaking-in-their-boots afraid of Ukrainian victory, because they don't want to see Vlad the Invader's Russia commit national suicide and/or otherwise collapse.
This is why Vlad sincerely says he favors Slow Biden and Kommunist Harris in the White House.
So everyone says, "oh, that Putin, he's just mocking Harris, he really wants Trump!".
No! Under Biden/Harris, Vlad the Invader has the perfect conditions he needs to both solidify Russian military capabilities at home and realign the "Global South" against "Western hegemons".
Under Biden, Putin can keep his invasion going as long as he wants, with likely Russian victory in due time, while his regime's internal power, and Russia's global influence, grow nicely.
So, Putin's war in Ukraine is somewhat analogous to Stalin's 1939 invasion of Finland, in that its failures show the leadership what equipment, tactics and logistics work, and which military leaders need to be removed & replaced.
Stalin used those lessons to prepare for Hitler's expected invasion.
Stalin's only mistake was in assuming that Hitler was not stupid enough to invade the USSR before Germany was ready, in 1942.

Lev Golinkin's image of Ukrainians in 1941 and 2014:
bimboeruption to kirandil: "Thank you for reminding me about Ukraine's ongoing love of everything "nazi"."
It's worth noticing that the Golinkin 2021 article in Forward is only one of many in which he discusses present day memorials to Nazi collaborators in various countries, including:
- Armenia
- Australia
- Belgium
- Bosnia and Herzegovina
- Canada
- Croatia
- Estonia
- Hungary
- Latvia
- Lithuania
- North Macedonia
- Romania
- Serbia
- Slovakia
- Ukraine
- United States

Notably missing from this list is Russia, though Stalin's many purges of Soviet elites, including Kulaks, disproportionately swept up the USSR's 5 million Jews.
- In the late 1940s, Stalin's Anti-Cosmopolitan Campaign led to dismissal, arrest, and execution of many Jewish professionals and intellectuals.
- Stalin's Doctor's Plot in 1952 led to the arrest and execution of Jewish doctors & intellectuals.
- By 1953, Stalin planned mass deportations of Jews, plans not carried out after Stalin's demise.
With Stalin gone, life in the Old Soviet Union/Russia for Jews remained poor enough for that, from 1970 to 2006, nearly all of the remaining 2 million Jews emigrated to Israel, the US and elsewhere.
Bottom line: Lev Golinkin did not write to single out Ukraine for memorializing Nazi sympathizers & collaborators, but rather to show how many countries, including the US, have done the same.
And we can easily add Stalin's Soviet Union to the list of persecutors of Jews.
Since 2000, Russians have erected nearly 100 new monuments to Stalin.
Left, in Moscow is missing his nose. Right, new bust in Lipetsk, east of Kursk:

—
Significance is: missing nose - that is believed by many since Old Kingdom Egypt, to end any spiritual influence the statue had - in essence, the statue has been killed.
