I think the DeepState thinks it is very close to that point and took a calculated risk when it went after Trump. They felt they could keep the public distracted if the hit was successful or not.
So far, their calculations appears to be working. They went after Trump, missed but were able to quickly distract the public.
Now they need the media to do heavy lifting while they are busy probably wargaming the effects of options with Trump's sentencing next month which will create a whole new media cycle.
Come October if another boost is needed, Jimmy Carter and maybe even biden can be expired with the accompanying media spectacles.
If the situation is in doubt come election day, maybe something like a major power grid outage can coincidentally happen.
