Horsepower?
Well, at least the “horse” part was correct.

Walz' acceptance speech last night was short and to the point, because he didn't have any policy plans to make. His biggest achievement was using a teleprompter last night for the first time.
Walz' teenage son was sobbing uncontrollably in the audience while his father was at the podium. Tim Walz has produced a bona fide leftie soy boy.

In the words of the late radio host Les Kinsolving, Walz is a perfect example of the great theological paradox: why, in His omnipotence and omniscience, did God create more horses’ arses than horses?

What? Walz was given a security clearance even though he told the reviewer that he visited communist China scores of times??? He did disclose that on his SF-86, didn’t he???

Not “The Manchurian Candidate”, but “The Beijing Candidate”.
Joe Biden at least collected a paycheck from the CCP. “Gov’ner” Tim Walz is willing to deliver even more services, for free.

Walz defeated six-term Rep. Gil Gutknecht in 2006 by a 53-47 margin. It probably is not unfair to call the southern Minnesota distrct as it existed in 2002-2006 a red district, as Gutknecht won by 60-35 and 61-35 margins in 2002 and 2004.
His electoral history shows the effects of national swings on local districts. Gutknecht was preceded by Tim Penny, a nationally famous “Blue Dog” who talked a good game on balancing the budget. Penny was first elected in 1982 in the reaction to Reagan’s sweep in 1980, probably aided by the state legislature who had just redistricted Minnesota. Penny quit in 1994 ahead of the House banking scandal, which led to Newt Gingrich’s “Contract with America” and stunning 54 seat flip which won the GOP the House for the first time in 40 years. Gutnecht then got swept out of the House himself in 2006, George W Bush’s “six year curse” election, where there were a few minor GOP individual member scandals that blew up on them, causing the ‘Rats to flip 40 seats and regain control of the House.
