Incredible that zeepers believe a couple dudes got drunk, chartered a small boat, dove to the bottom of the sea with explosives - finding the pipeline at that depth at night - and successfully blew it up.
CIA op.
> It was in Danish waters so it is technically an act of war against Denmark
international waters(?)
If the pipelines are a legitimate military target why does Ukraine still allow the passage of Russian natural gas through Ukraine?

So if a Russian blows up the Ukrainian embassy in New York, the Russian should not face criminal charges, because the 2 countries are engaged in a war? (For purposes of this question, ignore the fact the embassy is considered Ukrainian soil)
Not one German was killed and Germany’s claim would be for economic compensation, not a casus belli. Yet, as a de facto ally of Ukraine against Russia, Germany has little basis for complaint.
Ukraine agreed to that as an accommodation to European economic interests and their need for natural gas.
“...Denmark. They ain’t complaining, and if they did, they lack the heft to make much of an impact.”
‘Muh rules-based international Order
Under international law and custom, embassies and diplomats are not to be attacked, even enemy embassies and diplomats in time of war. Attacking them intentionally as an individual is a criminal act that has no immunity.
Dig deep enough and one finds that much of international law is custom and practice driven by necessity.
If it really was Ukraine, why not start with the pipelines from Russian that are still in operation.
“...much of international law is custom and practice driven by necessity.”
So like the Russian invasion of Ukraine, then ?
Only for the nutcase who runs the Kremlin and his fanboys.
It was not an amateur operation. It took extensive abilities and resources. No way Ukraine did it without help from a major country.
Unilateralism for me; Rules-based international order for thee.
They blew it up from A GRASSY KNOLL ON THE BALTIC SEA COAST.
So it wasn't a valid military target since the collateral damage to an ally was not worth the damage to Russia since Russia is now just shipping its oil via different routes.
I'm sure the Greens are OK with this... until they start freezing in their Yurts.
I had a semester of international law in law school years ago. Some of it stuck in my memory. And you?
That makes sense. Who might that also apply to?
(better not say)
He's gonna get us all killed.
