Elected as a moderate, governs like a progressive. That tells me that he knows what side of the bagel to butter. I think that Shapiro was the first choice, but the progressives vetoed that.
Kemala tries to imitate Obama by picking an old man as their respective running mate. At least when Biden was chosen, people knew him as he had been in congress forever and had a lot experiences. So, it did help Obama. But Walz doesn’t have Biden name recognition nor experience.

For one, Minnesota is a true blue state that Harris has in the bag no matter who she chooses, while Shapiro could have helped her win Pennsylvania.
For another, Waltz's policies with offering genital mutilation surgery to minors will hurt them with most Americans who are against this.
Choosing him shows how far left Harris is. I don't think that will work with the independents.
