Iran, which vows to annihilate Israel, called on the international community to stop the attacks. Iran does not support the U.S.-sponsored peace negotiations among Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan and the Palestinians. It supports Hezbollah, a Shiite Muslim militia in Lebanon that has vowed to wreck the talks and which has claimed responsibility for most of the recent attacks on Israeli soldiers.
