“Writing Program”???
Pretty sad state of affairs that college students need a “writing program”. Should be learned BEFORE college.
I was blessed to have a 7th grade teacher who understood how important it was to teach writing skills.
When I got to college, one of my professors asked me, “Where did you learn to write?” I answered,”in a 7th grade classroom.”

In most of my liberal arts "core" courses I learned exactly zero things that were useful and many things that were false.

Contrastingly, my math and computer science courses were very fruitful. They never did any leftist indoctrination. And whenever a student tried to do it, the instructor told the student flat out that we didn't have time for that mess. An exception was my favorite CS instructor. The few times a student tried to make the class time into promoting leftist ideas, the CS instructor asked him or her what the math basis for her beliefs was. The student never had an answer. And my CS instructor would wave his hand around the room and say that to change the minds of a roomful of CS students there had to be some math or research behind the new idea.

I still think like that today. I'll listen to just about anyone's political idea, but if they don't let me see the data (and how it was gathered) then they have no argument.
