Wasn’t “blown off”.
Blown off would mean everything above the C3/C4 was turned into a pink mist / ground beef and splattered across the rooftop.
3/4 of his head was at least intact.

I can’t remember where I saw the pic. Maybe Twitter but the head was not exploded. There was a good deal of blood and damage to the mouth. Teeth missing and one eye was messed up. You could still tell who it was.
