I think crooks was shot in the back of the head by the guy in the window on the 2nd floor. Crooks was shot AFTER he ticked off several shots himself yet the 2nd story window shooter could see him from the very beginning, well before a single shot was fired.

I don’t know. I saw a photo of him, and it was of his face. If he was shot from behind, he would have part of his face blown out. In the picture I saw, I believe the shot hit him above the left eye. Pretty good placement!
Exactly. They were watching him and knew exactly where the fire came from, therefore the instant kill.
