I’m not much on making the Cheeto lady a scapegoat.
She’s a nothing burger.
Just like Senators are nothing burgers who don’t run the day to day and staffers most likely make more critical decisions than the ciphers they work under.
Obviously, she is to blame because she delegated and let things happen.
The MOST IMPORTANT thing I want to know is who made the decision to put the shooter’s building outside the perimeter and then work the rest out from there.
Her excuse of the slope of the roof doesn’t hold water and is just plain foolish.
It sounds to me as if she asked those who really made the decision what do I say and that was what she was told.
The stupid answer served a purpose.
It made her look just plain stupid and set her up to be the scapegoat and the fall girl.
... and like so many unelected bureaucrats, she's allowing those in charge -- and it ain't her! -- to do this to her.
at this point I think we are going to have a drip drip of increasingly absurd stories about how negligent they were, etc. etc. stories that make bozo the clown look sharper, and stories that are thus so demeaning that the public will not intuitively think they are also false.
if people are convinced they are grossly incompetent, they will not think this was intentional.
She’s very close to Jill Biden don’t forget. She’s also stonewalling elected representatives of the people and arrogantly defying transparency.
That makes her a lot more than a nothing burger. Make no mistake, she’s a political animal who keeps close watch on the activities of her benefactor’s opponent. To think otherwise is a bit naive. I’m not buying her detachment.
You make good points. But I have no problem with both — firing her and firing the incompetent lower levels who made the decisions.
