The 20-year-old nursing-home employee from suburban Pittsburgh who tried to assassinate former President Donald Trump was a registered Republican who packed explosives in the vehicle he drove to the campaign rally an hour from his home.

Crooks tried out for the school's rifle team but was turned away because he was a bad shooter, said Frederick Mach, a current captain of the team who was a few years behind Crooks at the school.

Crooks used an AR-style rifle, which authorities said they believe was purchased by his father. Kevin Rojek, FBI special agent in charge in Pittsburgh, said that investigators do not yet know if he took the gun without his father's permission.

He registered as a Republican so he could vote against MAGA candidates in the 2022 election. It was a big thing the demoncrats were pushing the last few election cycles. He definitely wasn’t a Republican.

If the rifle belong to dear old dad, then the crooks household ought to be prepared to go ahead and lose that house in civil court matters when the people who were injured and killed by the rifle sue
“Bad shot” turned back police behind him and was able to rapidly fire 3-6 rounds before the sniper took him out. What the two snipers were doing behind Trump by not killing the shooter first is maddening. The reason Trump is alive is windage and his head movement. I guess video games or movie trained the shooter.
