Friends and I used to hang out at the Big Boy on 14 Mile and Gratiot. The corner table was reserved for us every night after about 7 pm.

Oh, that’s interesting.

I worked at the record department of the Korvette’s* on 12 Mile and Gratiot. Played “The Gates of Eden” on the jukebox at the Top Hat hamburger place across the street during lunch. I was a college student.

A travelling NY Columbia Records salesman gave me a free disc jockey pressing of Bob Dylan’s Blonde on Blonde months before the public. Great memory for me.

E.J. Korvette’s was a discount store chain like KMart in the 1960s.
Named after the Corvette sub chaser in WWII by the owner.
