True — got confused about where the victims “abode” ended. Even so, that family would need the help of trusted and armed neighbors to protect itself against a gang of squatters, some of whom might be armed. Nowadays, support groups like that are lacking. Property owners in rural area, especially if they are urban transplants, are isolated and on their own.
Also, if they have called the police 37 times as the story says, where the H*LL are the police????????
