Hunter wants his dad to remain as president, so he can get a pardon, and also to keep the influence peddling scheme going.
I get the impression Hunter doesn’t have a real job or career. He’s been a parasite on his dad’s political career all these years. And having reached the political pinnacle in the White House, Hunter has a vested interest in his dad’s reelection campaign.

Hunter allegedly texted his dad in 2019 that he would never have a chance at redemption for his drugging, whoring, tax dodges, gun charges, influence peddling, money laundering, China deals, unless Biden jumped into the 2020 Presidential race.
Hunter’s now facing a trial on tax evasion and a potential long prison sentence after being found guilty on all 2018 gun charges, could be using leverage for a presidential pardon down the road.

We will never know how the cocaine found in the White House got there. Somehow someone smuggled cocaine into a place with the tightest possible security, but there was just no way for authorities to determine the origin.
