Drudge is a moron. No one has to force Joe. A presidential run is traveling first class everywhere, having people bow and scrape in hopes of securing future benefits. What’s not to like?
The presidency is the closest thing to king of the world that anyone can get. For Biden or any other nominee, there is no upside to getting out. Trump lost popular majorities in two elections. He’s also gaffe-prone. If Biden decides to get out, he truly is senile. If he stays in, he has a shot at a second term. If he gets out, he never will. It really is that simple. His only downside is losing, same as it ever was.
Political leaders are more often than not, carried out. Russia’s Ivan the Terrible and Peter the Great killed their respective sons rather than give up power. Trump ginned up Animal House on the Potomac in hopes of preventing Biden from taking office.
This isn’t a matter of ego. The presidency is objectively a huge prize. Entire armies have been butchered to secure similar prizes. If someone told you the lottery ticket in your possession had only a 10% chance of winning the jackpot, but if you gave it to someone else, that chance would increase, you’d have to be altruistic in an otherworldly way to hand it over.

For years the media has covered for the dems over Biden's senility. Most people don't pay close attention to politics without a good reason, and it's not difficult to hide Biden's true condition.
Suddenly, everyone was paying attention and reality was undeniable. So, cornered by their own machinations, their path forward with the least amount of damage was to acknowledge the reality of what everyone witnessed. Yes, because they're very concerned about losing, but mostly because they really had no choice.
