"Who watches the watchers?"

This has been a thorn in the side of Lady Justice for centuries. Our system of justice assumes that the people who administer justice are themselves clear of mens rea issues. Sadly, that doesn't hold. There is a clear "laws for thee but not for me" mentality, which is present from top to bottom in Federal, State, and local government. When a cop says "I don't care about the First Amendment" it shows the wide crack in "the system".

When the Department of Justice is concerned about "the optics" we are no longer a country of law. When a prosecutor uses discretion to punish perceived enemies and favor friends, law goes out the window.

Consider: the Pledge of Allegiance has, as its last phrase, "... with liberty and justice for all." Yet we look at the Blue States like NY and CA -- witness the lawlessness in the biggest cities that goes unchecked, unpunished, out of control. In contrast, see the witch hunt that the FBI has conducted against J6 protestors.

I weep for our country.
