Youngkin is an opportunist.
**********************************************
Seriously?

What did you expect him to do, ignore the voters discontent with the Dims and run on something else? If he played it to perfection it’s all the more reason to choose him. He overcame the deep blueness of N. VA and won. And he has lead pretty conservatively despite dealing with Arlington, Fairfax and Loudon being overrun by leftards.

Why is every candidate held to a different standard than Trump? Standards that Trump couldn’t meet. Why is it they can come from the same business background as DJT and show good leadership, but they are still in doubt as if Trump didn’t fumble his way though his Presidency with poor staff picks, feeding the swamp and getting played by Fauci, Birx, and the CDC? Then there is Trump’s legendary fiscal restraint....

Youngkin would be a good pick. He is term limited anyway and he is not a career politician, but a successful business man, has a pleasant demeanor, has shown good leadership and can bring something to the ticket.

As long as he recognizes that. After Trump, the next POTUS may be somebody like DeSantis or Abbott. Not Youngkin.

I don’t hold Youngkin or Trump to any different standard. Their best attributes are that they are not career politicians. The treatment of the students parents in VA may be a one off circumstance. It doesn’t alter the fact that Youngkin does not have a national profile (yet). Youngkin worked very hard to return the VA state house to the Republicans, without success. While I don’t think Youngkin is a bad choice, there may be better choices out there (e.g., JD Vance).
