Congress’s NDAA ‘Merit Provision’ Enables More Of The Identity Politics Destroying Our Military

The American public is demanding action to restore meritocracy in our military, and to stop toxic diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) mandates that discriminate based on race.

The House version of the National Defense Authorization Act for 2025 includes some measures to accomplish these goals. One misguided though well-intended provision in the House bill, however, would advance the woke agenda instead of mitigating it.

The military anymore is a reflection of our society so any of the social failures will be ingrained in it. The only difference is the expected discipline of the member whether at self or unit needs to complete the mission. So it exists just like society. And it goes “both ways” with the different historical teachings and traditions that have been followed in our past, right or wrong. So for congress to say it isn’t going to happen is like saying stop, or I’ll say stop again. Last time I looked, congress ain’t God even though they will tell you he sits in their midst and votes their party lines.
