California Democrats at Odds With Cops, Businesses Over Bid to Curb Massive Retail Theft
PJ Media ^ | 17 June 2024 | RICK MORAN

It's nice to be a criminal in California and know that Democrats in the state legislature have your back.

There's a looting crisis in California. It's so bad that some people are refusing to shop in brick-and-mortar stores anymore. Stores are being redesigned to try and protect stock from the rapacious hands of organized gangs of looters.

The problem is Proposition 47. Passed in 2014, it was meant to reduce the jail population, which Democrats believe is far more important than actually putting criminals inside of jails.

Thou shall not steal. Heard it somewhere.
The left does not like the thou part-too religious.

It comes with 9 others they disagree with. To me it’s more common sense than scripture.

“Proposition 47. Passed in 2014, it was meant to reduce the jail population”

I think this is the first time that an article stated the obvious purpose of soft on crime policies is to keep blacks out of jail. Now blacks are running amuck. Who can blame them?

Really? If you tell people it’s okay to steal as long as you limit your haul to $950 or less, you have to be an idiot not to expect theft to increase. Jail isn’t just a place to hold criminals. Its threat is also a deterrent. You people in CA need to vote smarter than you have recently.

There are corollaries to John Adams’ statement that the Constitution is fit only for a moral and religious people. One is that without a generally moral and religious people, some things can’t exist in society.

One is retail stores displaying merchandise. Either the merchandise will be locked up out of sight, like the old Soviet Russian store, and a clerk will bring it to the customer after payment, or it will be internet only sales. Stores and free-roaming looters and robbers can’t co-exist.

If brick and mortar stores go away, the State will still collect sales taxes. Cities dependent on real property taxes will be worse off. They can raise their own sales taxes, but won’t that be a “regressive” tax increase? Welcome to the socialist paradise.

"Constitution is fit only for a moral and religious people."

I think that would leave out 95% of the lawyers of DC.

Not really. The commandment thou shalt not steal is not a biggie on the left. CA has invited people to shop lift. It’s surprising that they do. The whole point is that the soft on crime CRT/BLM inspired policies were designed to keep blacks out of jail. The policies are working.

Californication, along with the rest of the liberal run hell holes in the Country, are just an experiment in ignorance and stupidity by people too stupid to realize that it is the idiots they are voting into public offices that is causing the mayhem.

It all started with allowing people to vote who have no vested interest in the Country. But like everything else, once the genie is out of the bottle you can’t put the pos back in it, and so it just becomes another avenue in the long hard road to hell...

This country wasn’t founded on do any crime you please and harm or murder your neighbor.

CRT/BLM is nothing more than condoning crime scam if you do the crime you do the time no exceptions it’s what the democrats to get rid of.

“Thou shalt not steal is Biblical” Gesss some folks in Calif. think it should be legalized. Guess they are the ones who should be serving time for doing it; them & a few of the lawyers & judges who seem to be their accomplices.

I am in the NW part of the San Fernando valley. Porter Ranch is north of me by 4 miles. That is now the richest area of Los Angeles. The local Ralph’s grocery store had many people stealing as has the CVS drugstore next door. Another Ralphs about 3 miles north by a railroad station had homeless robbing the stores in the shopping center and camping out by the tracks.
Armed guards and cameras made no difference.
Homeless were camping out in my area and all over the valley.
No response by the politicians until Ralphs / Kroger said enough and said they would be suing and I am guessing not supporting the democrats.

Soon the homeless were gone. Took just a few months too.

One street got rid of the campers by placing large concrete rectangle blocks in the parking spaces on the street. Others have copied this.
See link!!
Eton street about 1 mile away from me:

Note the black tire tracks. Good thing there are no ‘rainbow flags’ there!

And some here STILL CLAIM that RINOs are worse than Democrats, or at least no better.

IDIOTS.

RINOs ran California in the past, and they didn’t have any of this crap.
