Interesting response tweets. They're tweeting that exposing physician malpractice doesn't violate HIPAA.
Yeah, since I'm HIPAA-certified, I'd like to know the SPECIFIC charges, or is this like Trump, where they're just nebulous?
HIPAA violations typically involve SPECIFIC PII (personally identifiable information, and the article doesn't mention the whistleblower releasing any. UNLESS that whistleblower actually cited specific people who received treatment (without getting their permission first). If that were the case, then A) The whistleblower is industrial-strength stupid and B) The feds WOULD have a case.
