A month or so ago, I went to my nearest ‘big city’ (Which in a more populous region would be considered a small city) for the first time in over a year.
Went through all the main business areas, and noticed that at least half the restaurants (including fast food places) were closed and in various stages of abandoned decrepitude. And most of the others looked like they were barely hanging on.... and this was around ‘lunch time’
The only place that seemed to be doing a booming business was the lunch counter in Sams Club... that had a line about 40 people long.
...and the pawn shops. A bumper crop for them, I'm sure.

I think they sell at or below cost. A pizza combo for $2.50 or a hot dog combo for $1.50 is crazy cheap.
